Functions

• To legally represent the Association before all types of public and private bodies.

• To convene, chair and close the meetings of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors, as well as to moderate and ensure the proper conduct of such meetings.

• To oversee and direct the implementation of the resolutions adopted by the Board of Directors and the General Assembly, with the support of the Board of Directors’ team.

• To perform any other functions inherent to the position, particularly in relation to its representative role within the entity, including the identification of new projects and partners, and the generation of synergies with other public and private organisations.

• To cast the deciding vote in the event of a tie.

Functions

• To authorise payments and execute all contracts and agreements entered into by the entity.

• To authorise, by signature, documents, minutes and correspondence required for the day-to-day operation of the entity.

• To adopt any measures deemed necessary for the effective executive management of the Association.

• To review and assess new associations and partnerships, upon proposal by the President.

• To advise on and implement, within the entity, activities considered necessary and appropriate, without prejudice to their subsequent ratification by the Board of Directors.

• To actively generate projects aligned with the objectives of the Association.

Functions

• The Secretary shall be responsible for overseeing the purely administrative activities of the Association.

• The Secretary shall issue certificates, maintain records and safeguard the entity’s documentation, and shall ensure that the competent authorities are duly informed of the appointment of the Board of Directors, the holding of General Assemblies, and the approval of budgets and annual accounts.

• The Secretary shall also act as Treasurer and shall collect and safeguard the funds belonging to the Association, and shall execute payment orders issued by the President, following verification that the conditions and requirements set out in these Statutes have been duly fulfilled.

• The Secretariat shall maintain and safeguard the official books of the Association.

General Assembly

The management of the Association, as well as the election of its Board of Directors, is overseen by the General Assembly. The General Assembly also approves the annual accounts and determines the membership fees. Each entity affiliated with H2 Nostrum appoints one representative to the General Assembly.

Main objectives

1. Share knowledge, resources and activities aimed at achieving lawful and common objectives, of general or specific interest, within the framework of projects related to the international hydrogen economy, from the Mediterranean region to other areas directly linked to it geographically and politically, or indirectly through partnerships with international associations.

2. Promotion of the Consortium, fostering its growth across different countries and connecting projects among the associated countries.

3. Connect supply (producers and investors) in technologies and infrastructures to enable the development of joint international hydrogen projects.

Secondary objectives

1. Develop and promote maritime transport, storage and land-based distribution of hydrogen from different energy sources, as well as the various applications and end uses of hydrogen (industrial, residential, and aerial, land and maritime mobility).

2. Research and development of green hydrogen for its use at different levels of management and deployment in the Mediterranean region, linking stakeholders from European, African and Asian countries wishing to participate.

3. Implement measures (regulatory frameworks, best practices, impact studies, specialised training, etc.) related to the storage, transport and distribution of hydrogen in the Mediterranean region, as well as its subsequent distribution to other territories.

4. Foster and activate all available pathways to improve industrial, residential and mobility-related demand for hydrogen energy across the different member countries, as well as to analyse the necessary developments in logistics.

5. Promote research and drive the technological developments required to accelerate the deployment of green hydrogen as an alternative to current fossil fuels.

6. Act as coordinator and financial manager of the group in the context of joint projects, as well as promote and initiate grant application processes for companies within the Association.

4. Support and organise joint international actions with other like-minded entities at international, national and regional level, aimed at the development of green hydrogen energy.

5. Raise awareness and support the dissemination of the use of hydrogen as a fuel among the various stakeholders involved, in one way or another, in the value chain, as well as within society at large.

 

6. Support the members of the Association in obtaining financial aid aimed at the development of a hydrogen industry, by developing projects and promoting consortiums to address them.

Additional purposes
  • • To promote the reduction of costs related to hydrogen production, transport, distribution, storage, uses (industrial, residential and mobility), and deployment.

  • • To collect and compile information and documentation related to the hydrogen industry.

  • • To promote the monitoring of activities associated with hydrogen.

  • • To encourage the development of a digitalised hydrogen industry that generates high-quality employment and retains the greatest possible share of the value added produced along the value chain.

  • • To collaborate with other initiatives.
