The Cartagena Port Authority has launched its PortLab with a Hackathon to consolidate innovation projects related to renewable energy, energy storage, and carbon capture. The event is supported by the consulting firm Crowe and the H2 Nostrum association, which is responsible for the technical organization of the workshops and the event's logistics.
Public and private entities are discussing four key technological initiatives: hydrogen production, emissions management, port electrification, and the circular economy.
The initiatives promoted by PortLab Cartagena receive European funding earmarked for industrial decarbonization. This attempt to position Cartagena at the heart of the Mediterranean's green industry is a sustainable, scalable, and economically viable project.
